2025 MAWA District Tournament Information

| Weigh-ins | Friday March 7th 4:00PM to 6:00PM and Saturday March 8th 7:00AM to 8:00AM. Wrestlers must wear singlet or two piece uniform. Everyone must compete in their own age division except those who exceed the maximum weight. Skin check will be performed. If you have anything that could be questionable, be sure to bring a completed PIAA skin form with you, signed by a licensed physician. Fingernails will also be checked. Weights can be adjusted at the scales - no charge.
There is a 1lb weight allowance for this tournament, this is the same weight allowance you will get if you move on to Regionals. WALK-INS are welcome at weigh-ins Saturday night and Sunday morning. Walk-in fee is $40 cash only. |

| Start Time | Wrestling begins at 9:15am. |
| Length of Bouts | Intermediate, Advanced, Elite, and Open – three 1½ minute periods. All others – three 1 minute periods. Overtime – one 1 minute period followed by 30 second ride-out period if necessary. |
| Wrestling Rules | Modified PIAA rules, PIAA officials will be used. EVERYONE must have PROOF OF AGE if challenged INCLUDING the person issuing the challenge. |
| MAWA-Specific Rules | Important: Once you have qualified for the regional tournament, you MAY NOT enter another MAWA district tournament. Anyone who does will be disqualified from advancing to the regional. Any entrant who falsifies information on an application to enter a district or regional MAWA tournament will be subject to a one year suspension from the program, effective immediately upon discovery. Masters Division placers do NOT advance - they only wrestle in our District tournament. The top FOUR place winners in this tournament advance to the Western Regional Tournament April 18 & 19 in State College, PA. There is a $30.00 advancement fee to be collected at the District Tournament. The top FOUR place winners in the Regional Tournament advance to the MAWA’s Eastern National Championships May 3 & 4 at Wicomico Civic Center, Salisbury, MD. There is a $30.00 advancement fee to be collected at the Regional Tournament. Fifth and sixth places are alternates. |
| Awards | Medals will be given to the top four finishers in each weight class. |
| Uniform | One-piece singlet or two-piece uniform is REQUIRED. Headgear is not required for our district tournament. Long hair must be contained in a hair net. Facial hair is permitted as long as it is trimmed and not a hazard on the mat. |
| Facility Information | Admission for spectators will be charged at the door. Hot food and snacks will be available throughout. The campus is smoke-free and tobacco-free. Security cameras are in place around the campus. |
